Unique treatment offered at Phuket spa
The Six Senses Destination Spa in Phuket is offering the ultimate in relaxation for weary travellers in the form of its very own bespoke pre-treatment ritual.Jaak Jai or From the Heart aims to engage every one of the six senses of touch, sight, sound, smell, taste and intuition simultaneously, to fully invigorate holidaymakers who have just hopped off flights to Bangkok.
The 7th Sense wellness centre within the spa has treatment rooms that each contain a small symbolic wooden heart composed of two halves, which the therapist holds before each treatment to clear their minds.
Therapists then embark on a ritual whereby they breathe in pure white light and exhale "black smoke" and negative energy to represent cleansing the body of anger and sadness.
Finally, the therapist completes the symbolic heart by adding the second half to symbolise the union of heart and mind.
They offer personalised programmes that blend holistic fitness activities, organic fish and raw foods cuisine, wellness education and self-discovery classes.
The Traveller is a leading independent travel agent offering flights and holidays to South Africa, the Far East and Asia, USA and Canada and Around the World. Call freephone 0800 091 1513 for further details.
