Hong Kong to host Korean Fantasy dance festival
Hong Kong will be getting a taste of Korean culture with a dance festival sue to take place this November. The Korean Fantasy Scent of Spring will showcase the traditional dance of the region through a series of performances from the National Dance Company of Korea.
Commencing on November 20th, the spectacle will feature performances of fan dance, two-drum dance, drum dance, duet and a grand drum ensemble.
The company will also perform excerpts from a dance drama The Scent of Spring, which is based on Chunhyangjeon, a famous Korean love story about a young couple from different social backgrounds.
With its unique style, the dance company has introduced the aesthetics of Korean dance to the world in international events including the 1992 Barcelona Olympics and the 2002 World Cup in Korea.
