Ashton Kutcher wants Kiwi hovercraft
A kiwi man has developed a two-passenger hovercraft, which even has a celebrity following. The device, which is called the hoverwing, was designed and made by New Zealander Rudy Heeman from parts scavenged from his wife's car, an old gas bottle from a barbecue, and the control lever from his daughter's scooter.
Last week, Hollywood actor Ashton Kutcher, who is married to Demi Moore, posted a message saying "I want a hovercraft" on Twitter and included a link to a video of Mr Heeman's creation on YouTube.
Mr Heeman said: "I had built the hovercraft seven years ago, but started converting it three years ago. The first test flight was two-and-a-half years ago."
Although the hovercraft is a toy, it would be used by farmers to fly over paddocks, the inventor noted.
"This machine is fast and furious, it roars like a lion, and is not for the faint-hearted. It's adrenaline-pumping and exciting," he added.
The device is currently up for sale on Trade Me and has a bid of $27,400 (£12,670).
