'Greener flights' to Singapore

Singapore Airlines has joined forces with Airbus to launch a new departure procedure from Heathrow which saves fuel and reduces CO2 emissions.

The new procedure, which is being used by the A380 Airbus, saves an additional 300kg of fuel per flight, which equates to one metric tonne of CO2 emissions being saved on every flight from London to Singapore.

A380s are not only more environmentally friendly, consuming less than three litres of fuel per passenger every 100 km, but they also offer far greater comfort than other aircraft.

The ergonomic styling and innovative design of the seats in Economy class mean even if the passenger in front reclines their chair fully, no legroom or space is lost.

An even bigger choice of entertainment is available during the 13-hour flight with Singapore Airlines.

Some 1,000 different entertainment options are on offer on a personal 10.6 inch wide LCD screen, which is the largest in its class.
