Australia Rail Travel

The Ghan
Australia's most famous rail adventure was named after the Afghan Camel Trains that originally made the arduous journey from Adelaide to the Red Centre. Today's Ghan whisks you through the spectacular and formidable outback to Alice Springs in 20 hours on its way to Darwin.
Indian Pacific
There's no other rail journey quite like it, from the Pacific to the Indian Ocean through Australia's great outback, travelling 4352 kilometres in about 65 hours. This mighty train passes through the Blue Mountains, rolling green pasture land, remote mining towns and the empty reaches of the Nullarbor Desert, with scheduled stops and tour options at Broken Hill, Adelaide and the gold mining town of Kalgoorlie.
Sunlander
A classic journey along the Queensland coast, from temperate Brisbane to Cairns in the Tropical North, in about 32 hours. Relax in style in the themed carriages, Tropics Bar, and Macrossan Lounge as you travel effortlessly through the state's beautiful and diverse landscape.
